The final batch of new shows is out. I’ll be going through these quickly.
Throws a lot of shit at the wall, but some of it sticks so it’s miles ahead of most comedies I’ve seen this season. I’ll take what I can get.
Watchability: I’ll keep watching it as long as it remains funny.
Angolmois – Genkou Kassenki
Has potential. The setup is interesting and I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a historical anime set in this time period.
Watchability: Good enough for now. Probably the show I’m mostly likely to finish.
Happy Sugar Life
Based on the premise I thought this would be some kind of black comedy. Instead it’s painfully serious and is probably aimed at the kind of people who like seeing crazy yanderes going at each other.
Watchability: No thanks.
Tenrou: Sirius the Jaeger
This might be all right, but the first episode is weak in areas that get me worried. The premise is not exactly original (group of vampire hunters track some stereotypical vampires to Japan), so it’s all about the execution. The action scenes at the end were actually pretty good, but until that point I was already starting to lose interest. Most of the episode is spent introducing characters (but none of them leave a mark) and setting up some sort of crime mystery (except it’s only a mystery to the police because the viewer already know the vampires are behind it). Maybe it will improve once it finds its footing. Or maybe it will continue wasting time.
Watchability: We’ll see.
Well, at least they’re not idols.
The premise of the show is fine, but I just can’t get into it. It’s the characters. They’re all so generic and uninteresting. It just feels all the effort put into the finale of the episode is wasted on them.
Watchability: Maybe one more episode out of curiosity, but probably not.
This is not funny at all.
Somehow even less funny than Grand Blue.
Watchability: Below zero.
